After a cancer related left femur break I was devastated that I couldn’t ride my lovely NC750X DCT because I couldn’t support any weight on my left leg. Well used to an automatic bike by now I started looking for a lightweight scooter that I might be able to manage. I found Three Wheel Diaries on utube and he had a Yamaha Tricity which looked promising because I could lock it in an upright position and not need to use a stand. However I couldn’t stand the thought of so little power from a 125cc engine. So that left Quadro, but they don’t have a decent dealer network in this country; and the Piaggio MP3 which I discovered was quite a lot dearer than the PugMet. on the bay of e Three Cross Motorcycles In Dorset had an unregistered 2017 model at a substantial discount with a free top box, phone mount, first registration, 12 months tax. No abs or traction control but I’ve been riding since Adam was a lad so I’m not going to miss those. I went to see it. No miles on the clock, I could get two crutches under the seat, totally unmarked because it hadn’t even been in the showroom. I could get my gammy leg on board although a bit more leg room would be good so I can remove the rider’s backrest and slide my arse back a bit. So I bought it. I’ve done about 200 miles on my local Devon roads and I’ll let you know how I get on in my next post.
